Work for Nursebuddy
Content Marketer
Location: UK (remote)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Hours: Full or part time
Nursebuddy is looking for a seasoned content marketer to join our small but mighty marketing function. Someone who knows how to keep a content engine running - and its importance to brand visibility and generating revenue.
This is a home-based role in the UK which can be full or part-time, depending on your situation. We’d really welcome applications from experienced marketers with caring or other responsibilities; we’re looking for talent and we understand that doesn’t always come with the typical 9 to 5.
About Nursebuddy
Nursebuddy is an international team passionate about what we do and the problem we’re solving. Our Nursebuddy care management platform supports domiciliary care providers in the UK, Ireland and Finland to help people live well in their own homes and communities for as long as they possibly can. We’re on a mission to re-invent homecare through smart, innovative technology, so that we can meet the growing need in our society for home-based care and support.
During the next 12 months we’re looking to grow our market share, particularly in the UK, so we can support more people. Content marketing is a key part of the strategy to do that. Which is where you come in!
About the role
As our Content Marketer, you’ll be the driver in charge of our content engine - which builds our visibility in the market, gets our personality across and creates an amazing experience of Nursebuddy, ultimately generating leads, revenue and more happy customers! 😍
You’ll also be someone our other teams come to when they have something they want to say to our customers and prospects, but aren’t sure of the best way to get the message across.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Creating a calendar of content across owned, earned, paid and shared channels to ensure consistent, high quality output that builds brand visibility and demand.
Producing content that attracts, informs, excites and converts potential customers (homecare businesses) in a range of formats, specifically:
-
Blogs and website updates - using HubSpot CMS
-
Email marketing campaigns and nurturing sequences - using HubSpot CRM
-
Social media posts and community engagement - primarily on LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube
-
Long-form downloadable content - such as reports, surveys and whitepapers
-
Broadcasts (live and on-demand) - such as webinars and podcasts
-
Customer showcases - such as case studies, testimonials and interviews
-
Product spotlights - such as new feature releases and use cases
-
Sales-enablement collateral - such as presentations, video demos and information sheets
-
Material for earned channels - such as press releases, guest blogs and thought leadership
-
Material for third-party channels - such as membership networks and software comparison sites
Using analytics tools to monitor and report on the success of content and its contribution to our wider growth strategy.
Staying on top of product updates, industry trends and the competitive landscape, to position Nursebuddy effectively in the content you produce.
Working collaboratively with Sales, Customer Success and Product teams to fulfil their content needs and exchange knowledge about our customers, market and platform.
Contributing ideas to refine marketing messaging, workflows and tactics, that improve efficiency and conversion rates.
About you
Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:
An experienced content marketer - you understand how to create, curate and amplify content in a range of different formats (written, visual, audio, video etc.). You’ll likely have at least 3 years experience in similar roles.
An excellent writer who understands the power of storytelling - your subject is both technical and emotional. You’ll need to be comfortable with both.
Ideally experience in SaaS marketing - it’s important that you can get comfortable with the finer technical details of our platform, and be able to translate that into the difference it makes for our wonderful customers.
Good grasp of the marketing funnel - it might not always have been your discipline, but you understand the process of attracting, exciting and converting customers, along with other marketing concepts.
Familiar with a CRM - using it to unite sales and marketing activities, target with maximum efficiency and leverage nuggets of insights. We use HubSpot.
An eye for design - we have a graphic designer on tap, but it’s super helpful to be able to produce imagery quickly in something like Canva.
Versed in video - we’re not talking feature films, but being able to produce bite-sized content using tools like Loom and Wave is very handy.
Appreciation of SEO - some familiarity with what influences the visibility of our website content would be advantageous.
Collaborative and responsive - you’ll be our “go to” person for content marketing, so you’ll need to be ready to pick-up last minute requests and offer direction when marketing’s input is needed. You’ll also know how to receive feedback and ideas with openness and grace (even when they’re crazy).
Super organised - there are always a lot of plates to spin in marketing, so you’ll have the skills and tools to organise your workload, shuffle priorities as you need to, meet deadlines and ensure a consistent, high quality content output.
Endlessly curious - you don’t mind a deep dive into a topic. Our target customers are a small but lovely niche, with very specific needs and regulations surrounding them. Developing a deep understanding of how they operate is important.
Data driven - yes words are your thing, but understanding the metrics that indicate how successful your content is matters too.
Fluent in English; Finnish not necessary!
Experience or understanding of the care sector is a bonus, but not essential.
Phew, that’s a long list! 😅 Remember, this is our ideal candidate. There are things in there that can be easily taught (like SEO practices or video editing), so don’t rule yourself out if you can’t tick everything off the list. 70%-80% is a great place to start from.

Here are the all important details:

About the hiring process
Our goal is to find the right person, not just the fastest hire. So there will be a couple of stages to make sure we’re a good match for each other.
1. Apply online: Use the online application form to send your CV and a cover letter outlining why you’re a great fit for this role.
2. Video interview: After an initial screening, shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 30 minute video call with your future manager, Jayne. We use Google Meet for this.
3. Portfolio review: We’ll ask to see a couple of examples of your work.
4. Team call: A follow-up video call with a couple of members of the team, including our CEO & co-founder Simo, to get a feel for our culture and vibes.
5. Offer: If we both agree it’s a match, we’ll make an offer and create a plan for you starting with us.
The hiring manager is Jayne Scarman, Head of Marketing. Jayne is based in the UK and has been with Nursebuddy for 2.5 years. Her career sweet-spot is inbound marketing for organisations with purpose.
