What are the biggest factors that have helped your business grow to be such a success?

“High-quality care. We’ve hired skilled and compassionate caregivers, provided thorough training, and ensured continuous professional development. High standards of care lead to better client satisfaction and retention, as well as referrals.

“We have also built a strong community presence through partnerships with local healthcare providers, and community centres, and participating in community events.”

With staffing an industry-wide challenge, what strategies do you use to retain carers?

“We are proud to be a great employer.

“Our main strategy is we make sure that pay rates are competitive within the industry and the region. We also offer continuous professional development opportunities to help carers advance their skills and qualifications, as well as focusing on recognition and rewards.

“In addition to that, we have a supportive work environment. We also offer flexible scheduling, accommodating personal 
needs and preferences, where possible, with flexible schedules to help staff manage work-life balance better.”

What's one piece of advice you would give to someone starting a homecare business?

“One critical piece of advice I would give is: focus on building strong relationships and a good reputation from the start.

“That includes prioritising high standards of care, developing strong, personal relationships with clients and families, establishing connections with the local community and gathering and responding to feedback from both clients and staff.”
