Recent upgrades to Nursebuddy’s mobile app for care workers are helping homecare organisations to achieve enhanced compliance during visits. Here’s a round-up of some of the highlights that are supporting high quality, compliant homecare.

1. Biometric authentication - care workers can choose to use face ID or fingerprint log-in if their phones support it, as an alternative to their usual 4 digit PIN code. For additional security, biometric log-in only activates if a care worker has used the Nursebuddy app within the last 24 hours.

2. SecureVisit update - care companies can now choose to make it mandatory for care workers to have GPS switched on in order to check-in or out of a visit. Used in tandem with a QR code in the client’s property, SecureVisit is our most accurate visit validation yet.

3. Visit time warnings - a warning message in the Nursebuddy app will alert care workers if they try to start a visit with a planned start time that is further than 15 minutes into the future. This helps to reduce instances of checking-in to the wrong visit by mistake.

4. Mandatory visit compliance - a “hard stop” which prevents carers from checking-out of a visit if their tasks have not been marked as completed. A prompt at check-out will alert care workers that there are tasks or medications still to be completed. They are unable to clock-out until they have done so.

5. Joint visit notes - all carers assigned to a visit can write visit notes within the Nursebuddy carer app, not just the lead carer. This speeds up note-taking on a double-handed visit and ensures all relevant details are captured.

6. Unique visit notes - a popular request from domiciliary care companies using Nursebuddy, our mobile app prevents care workers from being able to copy and paste text into visit notes. This improves note quality, ensuring that visit documentation accurately reflects what happened with an individual client.

7. Task history - last of all (and this is probably our favourite!) care workers can see the historic values on recurring tasks in an easy to read, filterable way. For example, care workers could look at all past blood pressure readings, to see whether the current value is within the norm for that person. Neat, right?
